The Imperials’ Back to the Roots Now Available for Pre-Order

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame inductees The Imperials announced today that the group is now taking pre-orders for their highly anticipated new recording, Back to the Roots.

Back to the Roots will feature 11 newly recorded classic songs that The Imperials made popular through their rich and varied history. Back to the Roots will feature songs from the 1960’s, 1970’s, and 1980’s and range all the way from the Jake Hess years to the Russ Taff era and everything in between.

Back to the Roots will feature production work from award-winning producer Michael Sykes (Gaither Vocal Band, Oak Ridge Boys, Gold City).

The cost of the pre-order is $15.00, plus $5.00 for shipping and handling. The new album is due out by September 10, 2007, in time for the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.

Shannon Smith of The Imperials said, “We’re excited to be offering pre-sales and orders for the new album because that means that we are that much closer to having the final product in our hands.”

“The feedback that we have gotten from this album so far is outstanding,” mentioned Ian Owens of the Imperials. We had a lot of fun making this album, and we know our fans are going to love it.”

A track listing for Back to the Roots includes the following: “Your First Day In Heaven”, “No Shortage”, “I Believe”, “We’ve Got a Great Big Wonderful God”, “Be Still My Soul”, “He’s Everything to Me”, “Praise the Lord”, “My Child, Welcome Home”, “More”, “Water Grave”, and “I’m Gonna Be There.”

The Imperials’ latest release, simply titled The Imperials, recently became available on both iTunes and Rhapsody. The Imperials was released nationally to Christian retail this past April through Lamon Records.

The group recently released “All That Matters to the Lord” to Southern Gospel radio as the follow-up to “Arise My Love.” The song was shipped to radio on the Lamon Radio Hits #14 compilation disc, cut #1. In addition, the song is also being promoted to radio by Theresa Smith-Dillard’s TS Promotions.

The Imperials Complete Vocals for New Recording

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame inductees The Imperials recently completed vocals for their upcoming recording.

Tentatively titled Back to the Roots, the new recording will feature 12 classic songs that The Imperials made popular through their rich and varied history.

“We are so excited about this project!” stated Jeremie Hudson. “This is something that fans have requested of us and that we’ve wanted to do for quite a while now.”

Back to the Roots will feature songs from the 1960’s, 1970’s, and 1980’s and range all the way from the Jake Hess years to the Russ Taff era and everything in between.

Shannon Smith said, “One of the unique things about the current configuration of the group is that we’re all huge fans of all The Imperials groups of the past. We love literally all of the music in our history, and we are both humbled and honored to continue in the great tradition of the group.

“One of our great desires with this project is to pay tribute to the great Imperials groups of the past,” mentioned Jason Morales. “We think all of those guys were great, and we realize that we owe a lot to them.”

Back to the Roots will feature production work from award-winning producer Michael Sykes (Gaither Vocal Band, Oak Ridge Boys, Gold City).

Jason & Erin Morales (The Imperials) Welcome New Addition to Family

image NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Jason & Erin Morales (The Imperials) are proud to announce the arrival their second child – Isabel Jayne Morales.

Baby Isabel was born on Wednesday, June 13, 2007. She weighed 6 lbs., 12 oz. and was 19 inches long. Isabel joins her older sister, Madeline Kay, as a part of the Morales family. Madeline will turn four years old this August.

“Isabel is so beautiful!” says Jason. “We are so blessed by God’s gift to us!”

Imperials’ New Self-Titled Release Now Available on iTunes and Rhapsody

Group Releases Follow-Up Single to Top 40 Hit “Arise My Love”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame inductees The Imperials are pleased to announce the availability the group’s latest, self-titled release on both iTunes and Rhapsody.

“We are excited to finally have our music available on such key digital music outlets like iTunes and Rhapsody,” mentioned Jeremie Hudson of The Imperials. “We recognize that digital music is the future of the recording industry, and we’re happy to finally see The Imperials available through these outlets.”

The Imperials was released nationally to Christian retail this past April through Lamon Records. The Imperials is the first national release from the group in over 10 years and features an eclectic mix of styles – covering everything from pop and adult contemporary to Southern Gospel and inspirational styles.

The album scored the group their first Southern Gospel top 40 hit in over 10 years with the single “Arise My Love.” The song peaked at #29 on the SoGospelNews.com Top 40 Weekly Chart and also charted on the Singing News Top 80 and Christian Voice Magazine Top 100. The song also earned the group a nomination for Progressive Southern Song of the Year at the 2007 SGN Music Awards.

The Imperials Featured On “The Gospel Music Showcase” This Weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame inductees The Imperials will be the featured artists on the Daystar Television Network’s “The Gospel Music Showcase” this Saturday evening, April 7, 2007. The show will begin at 7:30 EST.

“The Gospel Music Showcase” is just one of the many programming choices available on the Daystar Television Network.

The Daystar Television Network has emerged as the fastest growing and second largest Christian television network in the world. The Imperials Featured In Church of God (Cleveland)’s Evangel Magazine

The article, titled “The ‘Super Group’ of Gospel Music,” is a feature article in the March 2007 issue of Evangel. The story was written by popular writer Wanda Griffith. The Imperials talk about as the group’s past connections with the Church of God (Cleveland) as well as the past, present and future of the group.

The Imperials Make Key Media and Retail Appearances

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame inductees The Imperials will be a featured performer on Cornerstone TeleVision’s “Now, More Than Ever” annual telethon tonight, January 29, 2007. The show will air live and begin at 7:00 p.m. and will run until 11:00 p.m EST.

“We are very honored to be participating in this event and humbled that they asked us to participate,” mentioned Shannon Smith of The Imperials. “We are looking forward to being there this evening.”

Also appearing with The Imperials is Gospel superstar and member of the Kurt Carr Singers Yvette Williams and Rev. Chris Hill, youth pastor for T.D. Jakes.

Tomorrow, the popular group will be stopping in Ashland, Kentucky to film an episode of the “Gospel Music Showcase”. The show will air in the near future on the Daystar Television Network. It is a regular program on Saturday evenings on the network.

The Imperials Sign With Lamon Records

Nashville, TN. – Southern Gospel Music Fans will be excited to know that The Imperials have signed an agreement with premiere record label Lamon Records to release, market and distribute their new self-titled CD. “This has been a long time in the making,” says Nelson McSwain, director of A & R for Lamon, who first met Jeremie Hudson (Imperial's tenor) back in 2004. During the next two years the group built a solid fan base as a popular independent until all the members of the group sat down with Lamon’s staff at the 2006 NQC in Louisville, KY. This started the process to what has led to their current agreement.

“We are very excited about signing The Imperials,” says Dave Moody, Lamon’s Label President. “We hope this is the beginning of a long successful relationship.”
